What is a Low Glutamate Food?
Are some foods naturally high in Glutamate?
Yes! Tomatoes, mushrooms, meats and seafoods, peas, corn, brocolli, cheese and yeast extract are all naturally high in glutamate.
These foods are not the problem.
What is un-natural Glutamate?
When glutamate is isolated, extracted and added back to processed foods, it becomes an issue. It can lead to anxiety, over eating, depression, anxiety and many neurological issues.
Avoiding Glutamate is Impossible!
True. But every bit you cut back is a step toward better mental and physical health, so cut back when and where you can.
Can Processed Foods be Low Glutamate?
Yes, in fact, that’s what this website is all about. You already know that fresh produce is okay but did you know that you can find canned beans or olives that have no additives?
What if I’m vegetarian? Vegan? Keto? Caveman? Atkins?
The LG Diet compliments any and all other diets, it simply helps you locate the purest processed versions of products so that you stay true to your diet of choice.
I was so tired of the binge-then-hate-myself-then-starve cycle. Sometimes I would do well on a diet for a few days, then eat one little thing that would trigger a binge. As soon as I learned that high glutamate foods were triggering my binges, everything changed!
